Quote of the Day
My swing is so bad I look like a caveman killing his lunch. - Lee trevino
Golf Term of the Day
Cut or the cut: after the first two rounds of a stroke play tournament, a select number of players will have earned the right to play the rest of the tournament for a chance to win the championship, by having a score at or lower than this number. The cut is usually a fixed number of players ( e.g. 70), plus anyone tied for that place. In some tournaments, anyone within a fixed number of strokes (e.g. 10) of the leader are also included in the cut. Those missing the cut earn no official money for the tournament.

September 15, 2008
Join us for a day of fast-paced fun as we raise money for CF and celebrate the life of Leo J. Jacob. The tournament day starts with a continental breakfast and a morning round of golf. A box lunch is provided while golfers gear up for round two in the afternoon. To finish out the day,a fantastic dinner with live and silent auctions is included.
Leo J. Jacob was truly an inspiration to all those who knew him. He battled CF his whole life and then received a double Lung transplant at the age of 44. Through it all, he remained an avid golfer and a strong advocate for the CF cause. Leo lost his battle with the disease in May 2004 and we have renamed this event in his honor. We will continue to keep the tournament a 36-hole event as a testimony to the courage and the extraordinary effort that Leo gave during every day of his life.
This golf tournament, formerly known as the CF Open, was founded in 2002 by David Griech, an adult with CF. David, in conjunction with his company, Letterworks Art, wanted to help find a cure for CF. The tournament's goal has been and will continue to be the pursuit of a cure for cystic fibrosis.
