Mike Stuewe
Mike Stuewe was born and raised on the Indians, Browns, and the game of Golf. As a Cleveland State MBA student and full time Data Analyst for one of Cleveland's major health care providers, Mike suffers from the same problem we all do; finding enough time to tee it up.
Mike's golf resume includes 4 years on the Rocky River High School golf team from 98-2001. When Rocky River wasn't dominating the Fairview Park Warriors and the SWC, he worked at Sam's World of Golf until its ultimate demise at the end of 2000. Mike also has experience in golf club repair and custom club fitting.
Bunker Hill is a quality golf course with nice greens and an intelligently designed course layout. The most impressive part of the course however is how green it is. You would never know that it is August in Cleveland when playing Bunker Hill. Thanks to aggressive watering and a proactive maintenance staff, the grass is so green and greens are so soft that you would swear it was still the rainy season. For reasonably priced rates, Cleveland golfers can play 18 at a course that has fast greens, challenging holes, and is maintained as well as most country clubs.
The fairways are cut tight and the rough, while short, is dense enough to penalize you for missing the short grass. The tee boxes are also well maintained, and the landscaping around them appears professionally cared for. Bunkers are full of clean, white, dense sand which plays very nice.
The Coppertop at Cherokee hills considers themselves to be “Home of the Hassle Free Golf Outing.” The par 70 course, courteous staff, classically designed clubhouse, and large banquet hall allows The Coppertop to live up to that slogan.
Hosting up to 200 golf outings a year, the Coppertop offers an uncomplicated process for companies and organizations to host their outing or tournament. Outings can be held for as few as 8 or as many as 152 golfers. Food, beverage, and snack options can be customized directly with the course, as the Coppertop provides full catering and kitchen service. Steak, ribs, seafood, and other main courses are served at their outings, and the course provides real china and silverware for dinner. This is far from your typical outing dinner served on paper plates at an old picnic table.
Shale Creek is a young golf course operated by Granite Golf Properties, an Ohio based company which also runs Medina Country Club and the Quarry Golf Club. Located on Wolff Road in Medina, Shale Creek is less than a 30 minute drive from Cleveland and is easy to get to via I-71. The course is designed within a residential community, and while construction is still underway for a number of homes, the course itself is maturing rapidly into one of the finer public places to play in northeast Ohio.
